What can you do?
Discipline effectively
You have to remember that every child does misbehave in someway at some time in their life. No matter what it is or what they said you should not go off on a child. Changing the child's behavior is not easy but the child should not be disciplined through violence. A better way to take discipline a child is to take away their privileges. However when a child does something good you should reward them so that they know to do good, because of the fact that they gain something instead of losing something.
How to Regain Control
- Have a counting system, count to 3 or 10 if child doesn't punish them by having them go to room or stand in corner.
- Take deep breaths, do this in order to be more relaxed.
- Call a friend or family member and talk to them about the situation and what you can do next time.
- Do an activity you enjoy (ex: read, draw, workout, listen to music, or write a letter)
- You could take a bath
- Go on a walk or run ( make sure children are not unsupervised- this can lead to neglect and serious court issues or fines)
- sit down or lie down and relax
